ABOUT THE ROLE.
This is a senior broking role with a strong placement focus - combining account management with the opportunity to build and own SRG Australia's placement capability as the business grows.
You will be the key conduit between our client servicing teams and the insurance market - developing and executing placement strategies, negotiating with underwriters, and setting the strategic direction of our insurer relationships. With a particular focus on complex and hard-to-place property and casualty risks, you will bring your established market relationships and technical expertise to bear in an environment where your contribution will be highly visible and genuinely valued.

This role can be based from either our Melbourne or Sydney CBD office.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING.
- Developing and executing placement strategies across property and casualty risks, including complex and hard-to-place exposures
- Acting as SRG Australia's primary market-facing representative - building and maintaining deep, strategic relationships with underwriters across domestic P&C markets
- Negotiating terms, conditions, and pricing to secure optimal outcomes for clients, drawing on your knowledge of market appetite and capacity
- Setting and managing strategic insurer panel agreements to support SRG Australia's long-term growth ambitions
- Managing a portfolio of client accounts, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring a high standard of service across the broking relationship
- Partnering with internal broker and client servicing teams to ensure seamless delivery from placement through to renewal
- Keeping abreast of changing market conditions and communicating key developments to internal teams and clients
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities - particularly in specialist and hard-to-place property risks - and contributing to SRG's appetite for growth
- Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement through knowledge-sharing and mentorship of broking colleagues
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
You are a senior, placement-focused broker with deep P&C market knowledge and a well-developed insurer network built over a meaningful career. You understand how to navigate the market on behalf of clients, and you know how to set strategy - not just place risk. You are energised by the prospect of joining a business at an early stage and playing a defining role in shaping its market presence. Tier 1 qualified Insurance Broker with deep construction insurance experience and strong technical credibility in the Australian market.
- Significant experience in a broking, placement, or underwriting role with a strong focus on property and casualty
- A well-developed network of underwriter relationships across domestic P&C markets, and the ability to leverage and strengthen those relationships strategically
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement insurer engagement strategies for complex or hard-to-place risks
- Sound understanding of market conditions, insurer appetite, and coverage across major P&C classes
- Experience managing client accounts alongside a placement function - comfortable operating across both
- An appetite for new business and the commercial instinct to identify and pursue opportunity
- A current Tier 1 insurance broking licence
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and influencing skills
- Strong digital literacy and a genuine willingness to adapt to new systems and processes as our technology continues to evolve
