Specialist Risk Group Strengthens European Growth Strategy with Belgium Acquisitions and Leadership Appointments

The transactions form part of SRG’s broader international growth strategy, following the integration of Ecclesia’s activities in Belgium and the Netherlands last year, which also included the acquisition of Concordia, one of Germany’s leading insurance brokers.

Protectas is a long-established brokerage with a strong reputation in niche markets, particularly within the medical professions. Since 1982, the firm has built deep expertise and trusted client relationships across specialist segments.

Veca Life, which specialises in Life & Benefits advisory for medical professionals, also joins the group as part of the transaction. The firm brings significant expertise in supporting healthcare professionals with tailored advisory solutions.

Together, the acquisitions further enhance Concordia’s position as a leading insurance broker in Belgium, with a particular focus on the medical sector, while strengthening SRG’s broader European platform.

As part of SRG’s continued growth ambitions in Belgium and across Europe, the group is also announcing leadership changes designed to support the next phase of development for its Belgium operations.

Effective immediately, Michel Höftmann, CEO of IC Verzekeringen NV (ICV), will also take on the role of CEO of Concordia Belgium, creating closer alignment across SRG’s Belgium businesses and supporting future expansion plans in Brussels and the wider region.

Steve Sartor, previously CEO of Concordia, will move into a new position as Chairman of Concordia and Strategic Growth Director, Europe for SRG, where he will focus on supporting the group’s continued growth strategy across European markets.

With the integration of Protectas and Veca Life, SRG continues to execute its strategy of focused growth, specialist expertise, and long-term value creation for clients across niche markets.
