We have ambitious targets, and as one of the fastest-growing groups of insurances intermediaries, SRG places more than £900M of premium into the Global insurance market. We are focused on building our platform to springboard into the Top 20 brokers in the UK in the near future.

  • SRG secures Warburg Pincus and Temasek as new major investment partners, subject to customary closing conditions including regulatory approvals.

June

  • MX secures long-term capacity agreement with Accredited Insurance (Europe) Limited (AIEL).
  • SRG acquires Strategic Insurance Services, subject to regulatory approval.

July

  • SRG acquires Tristar Special Risks.
  • SRG acquires the ongoing business of Carriagehouse Insurance.
  • SRG acquires Trilogy Underwriting.

August

  • SRG acquires Anthony James Insurance Brokers, subject to regulatory approval.
  • SRG acquires the ongoing business of Morton Insurance Brokers.

  • SRG acquires Fleet and Commercial.

  • SRG acquires Consort Insurance.
  • The third company get-together, named ‘The Hub’ takes place and brings all acquired brands together for a company update.

April

  • SRG launches Specialist Risk Europe Limited, the platform for its European operations.
  • SRG acquires The Medical Professional Liability Company (The MPLC).

  • SRG acquires TLO Risk Services.

August

  • SRG acquires Cheshire Insurance Brokers.

September

  • SRG launches an Entertainment, Media and Sport division, Specialist Risk Entertainment Media and Sport (SR EMS).

  • SRG acquires CBC Partnership.

January

  • CLS Risk Solutions is rebranded to MX Risk Solutions and forms the first part of MX Underwriting.
  • SRG welcomes a team from Bridge Insurance.

March

  • SRG acquires Hamilton Leigh Insurance Brokers.

June

  • The second company get-together, named ‘The Hub’ takes place and brings all acquired brands together for a company update.

July

  • GB Underwriting are rebranded as MX Commercial and added to the MX Underwriting framework.

October

  • Oliver Thorne joins SRG as SRIS Managing Director.

November

  • The 2022 High Performers Programme (HiPo) is launched at The Shard

December

  • IRS and PPS businesses are transferred to SRIS.

  • SRG bring together the retail businesses within the group to create Specialist Risk Insurance Solutions:

    Square Mile Broking
    David Codling and Associates
    The Underwriting Exchange (TUE) Special Risks Team
  • SRG acquires Insolvency Risk Solutions (IRS).

  • Private Equity Investors, HGGC, acquire a majority stake in Specialist Risk Group.

  • Specialist Risk Investments Limited (SRIL) was created.
  • Pollen Street Capital and the management team created SRIL as a Group company that owned Miles Smith.

February

  • SRIL acquired a majority stake in The Underwriting Exchange.

August

  • Warren Downey joins the company as Group CEO.
  • Lee Anderson joins the company as Group COO (now Group Deputy CEO).

October

  • SRIL acquires Square Mile Broking.

November

  • SRIL acquired David Codling and Associates Limited.
  • High Potential Programme (HiPO) is launched.
  • Management Development Programme is launched.
  • ACII Reward Scheme is launched.
