Jonny Huntington is over half way there, in distance and in days

Progress update from Jonny Huntington

18th Dec 2024 – 27 full days in, and having just crossed the 86 degree, Jonny is now more than half way through his expedition both in terms of days (which happened earlier in the week) but also now in distance (470km into 911km).

Jonny is still on track with his plan to get to the finish in early Jan, and is in very good spirits for someone going solo to the pole, as you may have heard on his latest voice updates on the interactive map on his website (www.jonnyhuntington.com). Even dealing with his first real physical issue (a swollen toe) well yesterday, with his unique calm coolness. Though, yesterdays (Dec 17th) voice note, does have a really poignant reflection at the end of the climate in Antarctica at the moment, and is very much worth a listen.

SRG is proud to be a key sponsor for Jonny as he attempts to become the first disabled person to trek solo and unsupported from the Antarctic coast to the South Pole. A true example of difficult done well!
