The Role

Working within the Entertainment and Sport Team, you would be handling Property, Liability, Travel, Professional Indemnity, Management Liability and Motor insurance claims. In addition to working with clients in the Entertainment and Sport sector you will also be handling similar claims for associated general commercial insurance clients. This will be from first notification through to settlement across the different classes. As a Senior Commercial Claims Handler, it will be your responsibility for providing exceptional Customer Service and relationship management for your Clients. You will be the point of contact and help guide the clients on how to overcome future claims and assess the best outcome for them. You will have the opportunity to further your existing experience and gain strong relationships with key clients and be recognised for the work you put in.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a proactive and responsive service to commercial clients, keeping them informed and updated.
  • Produce accurate and timely documents for all aspects of the claims process.
  • Negotiate with insurers on behalf of the client.
  • Promptly escalate any issues that may prevent a claim being settled promptly or fairly, including any suspicion over the validity of a claim.
  • Chase insurers and suppliers to expedite claims progress and settlement.
  • Keep accurate claims records at all times.
  • Co-ordinate discussions and, where appropriate, meetings to ensure superior level of communication between the client, underwriter and their representatives concerning the proposed settlement.
  • Build excellent working relationships with the client’s Account Executives, clients and the wider client team.
  • Use your depth of product and market knowledge to help in resolving contentious claims.
  • Work closely with the Claims Director and the underwriting teams.
  • Technical support for pre-renewal meetings, placing and renewal.
  • You will be required to take notes during meetings
  • Work well under pressure and to tight deadlines – As soon as the clock strikes 5, we support colleagues to pack up and unwind, if their work for the day is done.

About You

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience handling Commercial Property and Liability claims. Preferably working within the Entertainment and Sport sector.
  • Experience working in a client facing role, understanding the importance of building relationships and providing excellent service while finding the best solution and outcome to problems.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Cert CII or higher would be preferred.
  • Enthusiastic approach to client service with strong relationship building skills.
  • Analytical mind set and excellent problem-solving skills.
