Jaya spent a good amount of time in academia and has a degree in Politics and Psychology, a degree in Law, and a Masters in Corporate and Commercial Law, before she was called to the Singapore Bar. Her foray into insurance was by chance and she has never looked back. Jaya joined SRG in January 2025 as the Group Head of Regulatory Affairs, Risk and Compliance after six years as the Global Head of Compliance at Allianz Commercial. The main trajectory in Jaya’s career was the seven years she spent as Regional Head of Legal & Compliance for Asia Pacific, where she had the opportunity to set up operations in Myanmar, South Korea and India. Those experiences were the catalyst to a true zeal for the steering of international operations and navigating the myriads of cross jurisdictional regulatory requirements. Jaya thinks SRG’s dynamic portfolio and growing international footprint marries the best of both worlds and finds it an exciting journey to be on.
