Specialist Risk Group announces Motorsport team

Specialist Risk Group have entered into an agreement to acquire established motorsport specialist James Hirst and his team from Seventeen Group owned broker, James Hallam Ltd representing a further strategic investment in the expansion of SRG’s specialist sport offering.

London, UK – 11 September 2025 – James is one of the sector’s most respected figures, bringing deep expertise in on-track motorsport insurance, and longstanding relationships across the industry. He and his team have worked with clients at all levels, from grassroots competitors and track day organisers to professional racing teams, drivers, circuits, and international governing bodies.

The team provides tailored insurance programmes for on-track Accident Damage, Liability, Personal Accident, Event Cancellation, and other complex motorsport-related exposures. Their arrival strengthens SRG’s existing motorsport proposition and forms part of the Group’s broader commitment to investing in areas requiring deep specialist insurance knowledge.

James is a well-known and highly respected figure in the motorsport market. His expertise, reputation, and client-first approach make him and his team a natural fit for SRG. This move positions us as a true leader in the motorsport market and supports our continued ambition to build one of the most respected Entertainment and Sport practices in the market.
